Death Certificate Lookups
Washington State Death Certificates 1907 - 1951 $8.00 digital/$8.50 paper These are uncertified death certificates from all counties in the state, and usually contain a treasure trove of valuable genealogical information.
General Info: These records are now online through 1960 at LDS Family Search Labs, and at Washington State Digital Archives. (The Archives database is supposed to include images of the certificates, but they seem to be having problems.) If you find an index entry but no corresponding image at the Digital Archives, I should be able to get it for you, for records through 1951. Certificate may include name, birth date & place, death date & place, gender, race, marital status, occupation, address, name & birthplace of father, name & birthplace of mother, informant name, cause of death, date & place of burial, and funeral home info. A few certificates are difficult to read, but most are a goldmine of information! Dates available from me are from July 1, 1907 through 1951, with the following exceptions: Certificate numbers 3636 - 4549 from the year 1948 are missing, so I will NOT be able to find those for you. However, I DO have access to some 1952 certificates, but only numbers 0001 - 1900, and numbers 2743 - 11512. The certificates are for research purposes only, and are not legal documents.
Fees & delivery: $8.00 for a link to a digital image that you can view or print from your own computer, or $8.50 for a paper copy mailed to you. If no record is found bearing the certificate number you provide, you will be refunded all but a $3 search fee. If you order two or more death certificates, delivery time for a digital image is usually 5 business days or less from the time I receive your request and payment. If you are only ordering one death certificate, delivery time will be 10 days or less. Add extra time for the P.O. to deliver a paper copy.
Required information from you: NAME OF DECEASED DEATH DATE DEATH PLACE CERTIFICATE NUMBER (unless you got the info from Family Search Labs, in which case please provide the film# and reference# instead) If you do not have the required information, see Washington State Death Index lookups.
